Position Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Software Architect to help shape the architecture of Autodesk Fusion’s next-generation cloud platform. In this role, you will design scalable, resilient, and secure systems that support millions of users. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to drive technical strategy, modernize our cloud infrastructure, and champion best practices in distributed systems and API-first design.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the software architecture and system design of highly scalable, distributed, and resilient product capabilities.
2. Partner closely with product teams and leadership to define strategic technical roadmaps, communicate strategies, and implement them.
3. Champion the adoption of industry best practices to enhance development standards within the team and organization.
4. Align technical direction with business needs, guiding the team to balance short-term opportunities with long-term technical vision.
5. Help hire, mentor engineers, and build high-performing, fast-growing teams.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
2. 15+ years of experience in designing complex systems and hands-on development.
3. Extensive experience with technologies such as Spring Boot (Java), Node.js, SQL/NoSQL databases.
4. Familiarity with other languages and technologies such as C#, Object Graphs (nice to have).
5. Strong background in API design and implementation, with experience in RESTful services and GraphQL.
6. Proven experience working in cloud-heavy environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), with a solid understanding of software architecture, implementation, and deployment lifecycles.
7. Strong experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or similar.
8. 5+ years in a technical leadership role for large, distributed organizations, designing and scaling systems for millions of users.
9. Thorough understanding of Distributed Systems concepts, scalability, reliability, and security challenges.
10. Demonstrated high levels of ownership and accountability, working closely with engineering teams to deliver results.
11. Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS architectures with a deep appreciation for platform and API-first mindset.
12. Experience in creating fully automated development workflows, including validation, best practices, builds, and deployments.
