Kindergarten / Elementary Generalist Teacher (Probationary)

Location: Trinity Christian School

Anticipated Start Date: August 25, 2025

Anticipated End Date: June 25, 2026

Assignment: Kindergarten / Elem Generalist Teacher

FTE: 0.5 Probationary

Responsibilities
  1. Establish clear objectives for courses, following Alberta Education curriculum guidelines, and communicate these to students. Prepare lessons and classroom activities accordingly.
  2. Use varied instructional approaches suitable for grade level and student needs. Conduct activities that promote observation, questioning, and investigation. Assign and grade homework.
  3. Monitor and evaluate students' performance, behavior, and social development. Maintain accurate student records and assessments.
  4. Enforce rules for behavior and safety, under the guidance of the Principal. Follow all administrative policies.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and parents to support student needs and progress.
  6. Plan and adapt lessons, and develop remedial programs for students requiring extra help. Use technology and support tools to enhance learning.
  7. Organize experiential activities like field trips and guest visits. Support extracurricular activities and supervise students during various activities.
  8. Coordinate with Education Assistants and support staff, including supervision and evaluation.
  9. Perform additional tasks such as organizing classroom materials and displaying student work.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Experience with elementary curriculum
  • Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector)

Additional Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to Christian education, including providing a Statement of Personal Christian Faith and a pastoral reference letter.
