Job description

About Us:

Slimline MFG has been manufacturing innovative fluid-handling equipment since the 1950s from our home in the Penticton valley. Our EcoMister line of mechanical evaporators has been on the market since the 1990s and serves a vital role in helping industries such as mining and wastewater management deal with excess water in an environmentally responsible way. Known for reliability, performance, and adaptability, EcoMister is a trusted solution in challenging field conditions. We are committed to customer satisfaction, product excellence, and continuous improvement.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Engineer to join our EcoMister product line team. As the Application Engineer, you will be responsible for adapting our evaporator systems to meet the specific requirements of our diverse customer base—ranging from mining operations to industrial and municipal sites. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure optimal system design, effective implementation, and alignment with performance standards. Additionally, you will be a key contributor to our innovation team, representing the "Voice of the Customer" and influencing the future direction of the EcoMister product line.

Key Responsibilities:

System Customization and Application

  • Design and recommend customized EcoMister solutions tailored to customer site conditions and application requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure clear communication of system requirements.
  • Review and approve project cost estimates to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with client expectations.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work closely with the Innovation Engineer and cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and quality.
  • Participate in technical calls and on-site assessments to provide engineering insights and ensure successful installations.

Innovation and Product Development

  • Represent the EcoMister product line on the innovation team, advocating for customer needs and feedback.
  • Research emerging technologies and market trends relevant to mechanical evaporation and water management.
  • Contribute to product enhancements and the development of new models or accessories.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Track project timelines and ensure deliverables meet engineering standards and customer expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements, standardization, or efficiency gains in design and delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification in British Columbia (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in application engineering, preferably with mechanical equipment used in industrial, water treatment, or environmental sectors.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Creative problem solver with a passion for innovation and sustainability.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a team driving real-world solutions to water management challenges.
  • Contribute to a well-established product with a strong reputation and exciting growth opportunities.
  • Work in a collaborative environment that supports your professional development and values your input.
