Process Simulation & Optimization Engineer - Relocate to Saudi Arabia

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Simulation and Modeling Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence team within the Downstream Reliability Solutions Department (RSD). This position requires relocation to Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

  1. Align Process Simulation & Optimization objectives with corporate goals and develop best practices.
  2. Perform process simulations and modeling using specialized software tools to analyze and optimize plant processes.
  3. Develop and maintain thermodynamic models and mathematical representations of process behaviors.
  4. Identify process improvements and propose modifications to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, or meet regulatory standards.
  5. Conduct performance feasibility studies to increase yields and operational efficiency.
  6. Analyze complex models to improve process operations and economic benefits.
  7. Conduct safety assessments for potential process changes or plant modifications.
  8. Lead technical sessions including design reviews, model reviews, and commissioning.
  9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and vendors for data gathering and development of new simulation methodologies.
  10. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  2. Minimum 15 years of experience in Process Simulation and Modeling; 20 years preferred.
  3. Refinery process engineering background with at least 10 years of experience.
  4. Proficiency with Process Simulation applications, especially APO or Rome software.
  5. Strong understanding of refinery operations, process yields, and energy balances.
  6. Familiarity with international standards for process control modeling.
  7. Leadership skills to manage technical discussions and guide teams.
