Summary of Position:

The Geotechnical Drilling Manager will lead the PDUSA team, working closely with the Geotechnical Operations Manager to develop, plan, manage, and support field activities for geotechnical drilling projects. Responsibilities include managing crews, scheduling work, ensuring safety and process compliance, and maintaining inventory and operating costs. The role also involves managing project teams to ensure successful completion of project deliverables and supporting business development efforts.

Location: Hockley, Texas

Additional Position:

The Geotechnical Driller and Operator will oversee mobilization/demobilization of the soils auger drill rig, perform routine drilling techniques, and manage project teams for successful project completion, including documentation and business development support.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage crews and maintain good relationships with team members.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager on project budgets and requirements.
  • Support business development through client relationships.
  • Ensure crew training and competency.
  • Maintain records of drilling activities and equipment.
  • Monitor and schedule maintenance for equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct site visits and inspections.
  • Assist with billing and timesheet tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
  • 5+ years experience with drilling and heavy equipment.
  • 2+ years leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical drilling techniques.
  • Availability for travel, including out-of-state and overnight stays.

Preferred Assets:

  • CDL A License.
  • Experience managing personnel.
  • Familiarity with DOT and IFTA regulations.
  • Additional certifications (TWIC, ISTC, HAZWOPER) are assets.
  • Previous geotechnical drilling experience is highly valued.
