Job Summary

The Surgical Nurse Practitioner (NP) collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide healthcare in ambulatory and acute settings, managing surgical patients across pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative phases. The NP holds didactic education, clinical competency, and national certification in their specialty, demonstrating medical knowledge, clinical judgment, professionalism, and commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document health histories; perform physical exams; develop care plans.
  • Provide healthcare services for primary, acute, and complex patient care, managing overall patient outcomes.
  • Order, perform, interpret, and collect diagnostic data.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical interventions.
  • Follow evidence-based protocols; facilitate referrals and consultations.
  • Support patient transitions between care settings.

Requirements

  • TN license as Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) / Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Full-Time, Night shifts
