About the team:

The Computing Data Application Acceleration Lab aims to create a leading global data analytics platform organized into three specialized teams using innovative programming technologies. This team focuses on full-stack innovations, including software-hardware co-design and optimizing data efficiency at both the storage and runtime layers. This team also develops next-generation GPU architecture for gaming, cloud rendering, VR/AR, and Metaverse applications.

One of the goals of this lab is to enhance algorithm performance and training efficiency across industries, fostering long-term competitiveness.

About the job:

• Take the lead in driving technical innovation across the entire big data stack. Spearhead the development of forward-thinking solutions and contribute to the evolution of cutting-edge technologies. Specifically, oversee the design and innovation of Hardware-Software co-design on top of Kunpeng ARM CPU architecture.
• Develop and present comprehensive technical strategies and roadmaps, outlining the path to success in alignment with organizational goals. Act as the visionary guide for the technical aspects of the project.
• Be responsible for attracting global talent and assembling a first-class research team. Assume the role of director of the big data committee and chair major technical plan reviews and decision-making processes.
• Participate in big data industry and academic conferences or communities, and leverage open-source platforms/projects to enhance the influence of Kunpeng Architecture and its ecosystem in the big data domain.
• Lead the Research and Development team, directing them towards the creation and delivery of competitive features. Maintain a commitment to high-quality outputs, ensuring a leading position in the market.

About the ideal candidate:

• Deep understanding of kernel features and performance improvement of one of the main big data engines, such as Spark, Flink, Presto, HBase, Hive, etc.
• Proven track record of architecture design and implementation in big data engines/databases solutions, with notable achievements.
• Experience in successful deliveries of hardware acceleration design/development for big data or database systems is an asset.
• A track record of publishing papers in top conferences or holding patents in the big data domain is an asset.
• Experience in managing a global research and development team, with the ability to effectively lead a team across different time zones.
• This role is not solely a managerial position. The ideal candidate is expected to actively contribute to technical aspects, emphasizing a hands-on and leadership-oriented approach.
• Understanding ARM chips/ecosystems is an asset.
