The Government of British Columbia seeks a dedicated individual to join the Public Guardian and Trustee team. This role focuses on assisting with tax return coordination for clients, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and managing financial operations. Ideal candidates will have a background in financial services and experience in tax preparation, contributing to the well-being of clients under the PGT's care.
The Team
The Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) is here to help citizens who may be incapable, are under the age of 19 or who are deceased.
The Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) has the mandate to:
• Protect the legal and financial interests of children under the age of 19 years
• Protect the legal, financial, personal and health care interests of adults who need help with decision-making
• Administer estates of deceased persons and missing persons
The PGT is a corporation sole which is a legal structure with one person responsible for overall service delivery instead of a board of directors. That person is called the Public Guardian and Trustee. The PGT is independent of government when making decisions on behalf of clients. Client Financial Services (CFS) is a well-established team of 27 professionals within the Client Finance and Administrative Services division. We manage the daily financial operations for clients of the Public Guardian and Trustee, including payments, receipts, tax filings, and investment income. Our team safeguards over $1 billion in client assets and ensures compliance with financial standards at all levels. Collaborating closely with front-line staff, we’re committed to delivering high-quality services that protect and support the financial well-being of our clients.
The Role
This position is responsible for assisting with the coordination, preparation, processing, filing and recording ofPGT clients’ tax returns and credits in a manner which is consistent with the PGT, provincial government,Canada Revenue Agency and international requirements and which ensures the maximum benefit toclients.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) temporary assignment available until May 4, 2026, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
