Our Specialist, Grants & Investment Programs, supports the successful delivery and monitoring of Travel Alberta’s grant and investment programs. The role involves working with internal and external stakeholders to lead grant administration and support program management, including grant intake, data integrity, analysis, and reporting.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate high competency in balancing internal and external engagement, maintaining professionalism, discretion, and integrity in all interactions.
Travel Alberta supports industry through strategic partnerships, air access, and tourism investment programs, which yield significant returns such as job creation, private sector investment, and community economic development.

Responsibilities:
Grant & Investment Operations:
• Support grant administration, operational, and reporting requirements.
• Assist in updating guidelines, process documentation, and templates.
• Ensure awareness of program dates and deadlines.
• Support budget management and monitoring.
• Help ensure grant applicants meet initial eligibility.
• Collect and centralize documentation, input data, and generate reports.
• Develop assessment documents and analyze trends.
• Manage the SharePoint site and support financial reconciliation.
• Recommend improvements based on best practices.
• Monitor and report on program success and trends.
Communication and Stakeholder Relations:
• Manage email inquiries and provide timely responses.
• Update stakeholders and support reporting requirements.
• Communicate program results and address challenges.
Team Support:
• Support the destination development team.
• Facilitate team meetings and provide administrative backup.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration.
• At least three years' experience in grant administration.
• Knowledge of government processes and technology tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytical techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
