Job description

The GSE technician ensures general ground service and aircraft support equipment is serviced and maintained according to company policies, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform general and preventative maintenance, including repairs and servicing.
2. Prepare, paint, or clean the interior and exterior surfaces of ground equipment.
3. Perform minor manufacturing work, e.g., building baggage carts, aircraft tow bars, etc.
4. Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various electrical components and equipment following relevant codes, preventative maintenance programs, and departmental procedures.
5. Troubleshoot, install, and repair hydraulic hoses, piping, and related equipment.
6. Handle vehicle maintenance requirements for all company vehicles at the associated base.
7. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and servicing tasks.
8. Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
9. Identify faulty operations, defective materials, and report issues and unusual situations to supervision.
