What this role is all about:

Beem Credit Union is looking for a Part-Time Member Service Advisor to join our Chase Branch. The successful candidate will work 20 hours/week.

Through your strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and professionalism, you will develop full member relationships by analyzing member needs and recommending solutions. You will consult with and assist members on investment options using basic financial planning tools to further develop the relationship. In building full member relationships, you will proactively identify members’ financial needs, turn those needs into business opportunities, and refer to internal specialists when appropriate. You will also deliver on Beem's member service experience while promoting and educating members on self-service channel options to make banking easier.

With strong communication skills and adaptability, you will support the mission, vision, and values, and work with integrated branch and multi-channel teams proactively supporting each other. You will follow the business model and Service Protocols when referring members, preparing for meetings, and uncovering opportunities. You will make outbound member contacts for investment renewals as well as assigned marketing campaign calls.

What you’ll do:
  1. Open accounts, process investments & lending transactions.
  2. Conduct loan interviews and collect relevant information for credit risk assessment.
  3. Process member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bill payments, wires, drafts, and term deposits.
  4. Adhere to standards and regulatory requirements.
  5. Assist with branch administrative duties such as outgoing cheque deposit, ATM balancing, Night Deposit, etc.
  6. Balance treasury blotter and post transactions daily.
A little about your qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  2. 1-3 years of experience in a financial sales and service environment.
  3. Basic understanding of credit products and procedures.
  4. Knowledge of a full range of investment products.
  5. Financial planning courses are considered an asset.
