Procurement Manager – Material (18 Month Contract)

Location: Victoria, BC or Ottawa, ON

Expected Salary: $86,648 to $129,971

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop, and oversee the Marine Material Procurement team, fostering coaching, training, and feedback.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and process development for Marine Procurement & Supply Chain.
  • Manage procurement processes from requisition to delivery, ensuring responsiveness, accountability, and reliability.
  • Handle the material procurement budget and forecasts aligning with business goals.
  • Use analytical tools to monitor, report, and improve performance, risks, and quality.
  • Support project delivery through contract and supplier performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Develop supplier relationships, monitor performance, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvement and support change management.
  • Oversee occupational health & safety for your team.
Candidate Requirements:
  • At least 10 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain, with 3 years in leadership.
  • Experience in Defence / Marine industry is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications are an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and BI tools like Excel, Power BI.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain principles and global impacts.
  • Experience with ERP systems related to procurement and supply chain.
  • Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
