Tailor (6 months)

The Tailor fits, pins, marks, and alters garments to client specifications.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

1. Measure clients to determine scope of work
2. Pin / mark garments as appropriate to type of fabric and to ensure correct fit
3. Complete work as pinned / marked and to the highest technical standard
4. Deliver complete garments on or before the date promised
5. Inform client of appropriate alteration charges as per current price list
6. Confirm and communicate promise date for completed alteration
7. Partner professionally with Sales Associates to create client satisfaction
8. Provide expert guidance on cut and fit
9. Complete designated sections of alterations tag
10. Follow Holt Renfrew price list
11. Inform department manager of supply requirements or equipment repair needs
12. Assist in maintaining department in a clean and orderly fashion
13. Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
14. Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures

1. Tailoring / seamstress technical training or its equivalent
2. 2 years experience in similar capacity
3. Previous experience in altering luxury fabrications
4. Communicates comfortably and clearly in English and/or French

1. Contribution to financial objectives
2. Individual objectives linked to the achievement of department goals
3. Feedback from internal and external clients
