What is the Opportunity?

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance department as an Analyst, AML High Risk Client Management. Reporting to the Senior Manager, High Risk Client Management, you will conduct Enhanced Due Diligence and report your findings and recommendations in a timely manner to Management for review and approval.
What will you do?

  • Prioritize and conduct AML and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) analyses and provide Key Risk Indicators to mitigate financial, regulatory, reputational, and legal risks to RBC for higher risk clients.
  • Investigate and research using RBC-approved techniques and tools to assess if a client presents a higher level of AML regulatory or reputational risk.
  • Assign appropriate risk ratings to Personal and Commercial Retail Banking clients according to RBC’s risk rating methodology.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for Senior Management that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze information, ensuring escalation of required matters within defined timelines and policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills related to AML, ATF, and regulatory matters to support analytical functions.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness in updating and maintaining files, emphasizing quality.
  • Develop and maintain a network of internal partners and external industry peers to support analytical requirements, in collaboration with Team Leaders and Managers.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience or knowledge in AML Compliance, Financial Crimes investigations, or financial regulatory oversight
  • Knowledge of banking systems and processes
  • Strong AML knowledge – CAMS designation preferred

Nice-to-have
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of predicate offences such as fraud
  • Skilled in open source research
  • Language skills (French, Cantonese, Mandarin, Dutch)
