Job description

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. This role embodies our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers.

When not on deliveries, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming operation of the shop. You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

You'll typically start your day in store and be responsible for :

• Checking your delivery routes for the day.
• Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery to customers.
• Completing vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance, and adhering to health and safety standards.
• Representing the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your priority.
• Assisting customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
• Supporting the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential skills / experience

• Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting crates and moving cages.
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and adaptable.
• IT literacy.
• Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are advantageous.
