We're in search of a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our integrated design practice. You'll be our go-to guru for all things structural, especially when it comes to our exciting Hybrid Structural Technology projects. Please note that the location for this role is Ottawa-based.

How you'll make a difference:
  • Acting as a design engineer and project manager on a variety of building projects of various sizes and complexity.
  • Following through all phases of projects from concept design through construction.
  • Being driven to provide the highest technical quality in the delivery of designs, drawings, specifications, and in the field.
  • Work with DIALOG's robust Specifiers to develop construction specifications.
  • Working closely with our integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms.
  • Prepare contract documents to evaluate tenders.
  • Building relationships of trust with clients and other outside agencies.
  • Recruiting, mentoring and enabling the next generation of structural engineers. Coach and review the work of more junior team members.
  • Opportunity to manage projects while working with limited supervision and participate in project planning.
  • Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of structural design.
  • Provide Contract Administration support for your projects.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering is required, Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO or another provincial engineering association.
  • 4 - 9 years of experience designing buildings is required.
  • Security clearance for projects is required.
  • LEED accreditation is considered an asset.
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects.
