Salary Range: $66,122 to $117,053 (based on QECO category and teaching experience)

Long Point First Nation is an English-speaking Anishinabeg community in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Western Quebec. Amo Ososwan School offers Junior Kindergarten to Grade 11 classes with an Ontario curriculum-based program, including daily Algonquin Language and Culture classes. The primary role of the Special Education Resource Teacher is to provide targeted one-on-one and small group instruction to Grades 7–11 students on IEPs, addressing learning needs and difficulties, including gaps from absences or incomplete prior learning. This involves delivering remedial support to reinforce foundational skills, developing individualized strategies, and helping students achieve their IEP goals with measurable academic progress. The teacher collaborates with the Special Education team to develop and implement IEPs, supports classroom instruction, recommends accommodations, oversees differentiated instruction and assistive technology, and monitors IEP implementation.
