Summary

The Power Engineer is a mid-entry level position responsible for assisting technicians, performing maintenance and repairs, and routine services on non-technical facility components. The role involves working in accordance with established processes and complying with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection standards.

This is a full-time position located in Grande Prairie, AB. Candidates open to relocation are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Troubleshooting
  • Observe and report on facility and equipment conditions, suggesting improvements and repairs.
Maintenance
  • Perform work following established practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection regulations.
  • Monitor and inspect technical and non-technical components.
  • Respond to service requests, perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Operate facility systems and manage work orders from dispatch to completion.
  • Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs.
Client Relations
  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through quality service.
Administration
  • Record and monitor maintenance data.
  • Participate in facility projects and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Maintain tools and submit expenditures timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Facility operations and maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of facility systems and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair non-technical components.
  • Strong safety mindset and client service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Building Automation Systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrate maintenance skills.
  • Willing to wear PPE.
Licenses and Certifications
  • 5th Class Power Engineering certification or in progress.
  • 4th Class certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
