Flex Academy Assistant Director: Foundations

Flex Academy is a JK-12 brick-and-mortar school which is a division of HCOS located in Kelowna, BC. In this Christ-focused, campus-based program, we are combining the best of classroom experience with the versatility of online tools to develop a hybrid model of education that makes education as expansive and flexible as possible.

Flex Academy has an opening for a permanent Assistant Director: Foundations Position. This will be a 0.5 FTE position for the 2025-26 school year, with the successful candidate also fulfilling a 0.5 FTE teaching position in the K-5 grade range totaling 1.0 FTE. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director in overseeing, leading and managing HCOS Flex Academy especially with regards to the Foundations Grade Levels (Jr.K-5).

As the Flex Academy Assistant Director: Foundations, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with the school administrative team to support general school operations and events.
• Manage programs including Jr. Kindergarten, Sparks After School Care & Camp Program, Foundations Explorations, and Learning Commons.
• Oversee Foundations Classroom Experience.
• Work with a team to strengthen family and community engagement in student culture, clubs, chapels, and family connections.
• Assist with daily operations, including handling administrative functions, parent/student concerns, and support of staff and students across the school.
• Facilitate community events such as parent information sessions, professional development events, and others as needed.
• Assist with academic schedules, report cards, parent-teacher interviews, and staff meetings.
• Contribute to refining school processes and technologies.
• Enforce student discipline policies, participate in student support meetings, and collaborate with teams to address academic and behavioral needs.
• Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating support staff and teachers.
• Assist with teacher assignments, classroom observations, coaching, and scheduling.

We are looking for someone with the following Qualifications & Skills:

• BC Certified Teacher with previous classroom experience.
• Leadership or administrative experience is preferred.
