Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team for a major rail project in the UAE. This exciting opportunity will involve working on the design and structural integrity of various elements critical to the success of large-scale rail infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the structural design and analysis of components related to tunnels, shafts, and excavation support systems, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with the highest industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Lead the structural design and analysis for tunnels, shafts, and excavation support systems for the rail project, ensuring all designs meet safety, functionality, and regulatory requirements.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and contractors, to ensure the smooth integration of structural systems with other project components.
3. Manage the delivery of structural engineering aspects of the project, from concept through to design development, construction, and final delivery.
4. Ensure that all designs comply with local and international engineering standards and regulations, including safety codes and environmental guidelines.
5. Identify potential risks in the structural design and construction processes and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or safety issues.
6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other project team members, ensuring high standards of engineering practice are followed.
7. Maintain communication with clients, project stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure the project meets all expectations and deadlines.
8. Provide support during construction to ensure proper implementation of the design, resolve design-related issues, and conduct site visits when necessary.
9. Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations, and design documents to support approvals and project progress updates.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
2. Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE) is a plus.
3. 15+ years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in rail projects, tunnels, and excavation support systems.
4. Expertise in structural design and analysis, with a focus on tunnels, shafts, and underground structures.
5. Experience with advanced structural software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro, etc.) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
6. Solid knowledge of construction processes, project management, and safety standards relevant to large infrastructure projects.
7. Experience working in the UAE or similar regions with an understanding of local building codes and regulations is preferred.
