Job description

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Software Development & Digital Channels, the Manager, Digital Channels provides strategic technical ownership of YVR's public-facing digital platforms. This includes oversight of web, mobile, and real-time experience solutions that span the digital journey from curb to gate and beyond. Working closely with teams across the airport, this role leads the delivery of scalable, secure, and innovative technologies that elevate both the passenger experience and operational performance. You'll also play a role in the future commercialization of in-house innovations, helping to define and shape digital assets that may serve other airports or industry partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute a multi-year digital platform strategy to position YVR as a global aviation innovation leader.
  • Lead the technical delivery of mobile, web, and guest-facing digital systems using Agile teams and modern DevOps practices.
  • Shape the future of personalization, loyalty, and real-time information delivery across digital environments.
  • Ensure digital solutions meet standards for security, accessibility, performance, and scalability.
  • Oversee platform architecture and manage vendor partnerships across digital systems.
  • Promote human-centered design, operational efficiency, and digital service excellence.
  • Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team of developers, designers, analysts, and strategists.
  • Represent YVR at external events, forums, and industry collaborations to showcase digital leadership.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Media, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in digital innovation, especially in passenger-facing solutions.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformations in complex environments like aviation, transportation, retail, or hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of web and mobile frameworks (React, Angular, Flutter, Swift), CMS (Sitecore, WordPress), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience with digital signage, wayfinding solutions, and operational technology integration.
  • Certifications in Agile, Scrum, Enterprise Architecture, UX/UI Design, Project Management, or ITIL are preferred.

This role is primarily based at YVR offices, with occasional travel to industry events and forums. The position is open to both internal and external candidates, with internal applicants' previous performance considered.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $102,880 to $154,320 annually, based on a 37.5-hour work week. An annual bonus of up to 15% may be awarded based on performance.
