Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Nurse Scheduling Manager, the Scheduling Clerk, in collaboration with the Coordinators of Patient Services (CPSs), assists in the maintenance of Direct Service Staff* schedules by entering data in to the ESP scheduling system, assigning, scheduling and communicating with Direct Service Staff, and other relevant disciplines at SMHC.

*Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Licenced Practical Nurses, Psychiatric Nursing Assistants 1, and Psychiatric Nursing Assistants 2

Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience scheduling staff in a large 24-hour environment.
  • Experience with ESP Timekeeping preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment/familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
  • Data entry experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies: formal training in applied office skills required.

  • Ability to interpret collective agreements, acts, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and negotiation skills that result in win-win outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Intermediate computer skills including keyboarding, as well as Microsoft Office skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
