Job description

An Early Years Practitioner is required to start ASAP in a private nursery based in South West London to work with children aged 0-4 years old.

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time positions

Job Purpose: To provide high-quality care and education to children from birth to pre-school age in a supportive and inclusive environment. To promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Care and Education:
   • Provide a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring their needs are met at all times.
   • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs for children from birth to pre-school age, tailored to meet individual needs.
   • Create activities that promote learning and development, including play, exploration, and sensory experiences.
2. Observation and Assessment:
   • Observe and record children's progress, identifying strengths and areas for development.
   • Use this information to inform planning and support children's learning and development.
3. Relationship Building:
   • Build strong, positive relationships with children, carers, and colleagues.
   • Develop effective communication systems with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
4. Teamwork and Collaboration:
   • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to planning and delivery of educational programs.
   • Participate in professional development and training.
5. Health, Safety, and Hygiene:
   • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment, following policies and procedures.
   • Ensure the well-being of children and colleagues, reporting concerns appropriately.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Early Years Education or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children aged 0-4 years, including babies.
• Knowledge of EYFS and relevant frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork and record-keeping skills.
• First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Enhanced DBS clearance preferred.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Early Years Education or related.
• Experience with children with SEND.
• Knowledge of childcare legislation.
• Experience planning and delivering educational programs.

Working Conditions:
