Qualifications

Job description

Clark Builders is hiring Labourers to work in Yellowknife! This role will be responsible for preparing and cleaning up construction sites, moving materials and equipment, and performing demolition, excavation, and compaction activities.

Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
  • Erect/install and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sites.
  • Place and vibrate concrete.
  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters and cement finishers in construction activities.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.
  • Assist demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials.
  • Operate jack hammers and tampers as directed.
  • Pump water.
  • Maintain a clean construction site.
  • Maintain organization of storage containers.
  • Additional duties as required.
  • Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Adhere to Clark Builders’ policies and procedures.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • The physical ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., as well as performing repetitive motions, bending, crouching, and/or kneeling for long periods throughout the day.
  • The ability to work long hours while completing repetitive tasks.
  • The capability to work outside in various weather conditions depending on the season.
  • The ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in commercial/industrial construction is considered an asset.
  • Valid First Aid certificate is an asset.
  • Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020, and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.
