Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Manager of Health Services, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides community nursing care, including for clients with complex needs. Services include independent nursing, administering treatments, leadership within healthcare teams, and coordinating care and discharge. These services may be delivered in homes, schools, workplaces, or clinics.

Experience
  • 2 years recent related experience preferred.
  • Satisfactory employment record required.
Education
  • Graduate of an approved RN program required.
  • Community Health Nurse Certification or relevant certification preferred.
  • Additional wound care and chronic disease management education preferred.
Certification and Licensure
  • Maintain registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Participation in professional associations preferred.
  • CPR training as per employer policy.
  • Immunization and Tuberculin testing as per WRHA policy.
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of nursing standards, ethics, community health practices, and relevant laws.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Competency in Indigenous languages or knowledge is an asset.
  • Critical thinking, prioritization, delegation, and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, handle stress, and maintain concentration.
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Ability to work in various community settings and environmental conditions.
  • Use of reliable motor vehicle.

This term position may end earlier as per collective agreement. A satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks are required.
