The Opportunity:
DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is currently seeking an Employment Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Employment Services, the Employment Specialist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all services and activities associated with Future Troopers. Future Troopers – Immigrant Youth Employment Program is designed to connect immigrant youth with supportive employer partners to address urgent skill shortages in the labour market. The objective of the program is to increase labour force participation and reduce the unemployment rate among young adults in British Columbia who face barriers to employment. The program also supports newcomer youth in entering the local labour force and contributing to the economic stability of the communities in which they reside. Future Troopers continues to provide positive youth development, innovative and individually tailored skills training approaches, and wraparound employment service packages for immigrant youth that align with their life and career transition stages.
