Job description

Our client, a year-over-year Top Employer, is a leader in Business Analytics/BI (Business Intelligence) software sales and services. They have engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a Consulting Manager, Delivery.

As a Consulting Manager, you will build and maintain relationships with assigned clients. You will manage the day-to-day business operations of a services consulting delivery practice, define and oversee the development of resources needed to accomplish business objectives of multiple, concurrent projects, and maximize revenues through careful planning, negotiation, and collaboration.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Define and oversee team objectives and the acquisition and development of resources to meet those objectives.
  2. Provide staff with a clear understanding of responsibilities, accountabilities, and career plans by communicating and managing work assignments, training, and performance appraisals.
  3. Ensure staff compliance with established policies and procedures including skills inventory, methodologies, quality assurance, and time submission processes.
  4. Develop and implement business plans specific to practice.
  5. Provide accurate revenue forecasts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  6. Ensure delivery of multiple high-quality consulting engagements resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsible for client satisfaction, expectations, and management of client issues.
  7. Demonstrate leadership in the delivery of services as seen by the Customer.
  8. Manage client level expectations.
  9. Build and maintain customer relationships at the delivery level, ensuring proactive problem resolution during consulting engagements and actively promote the value of services throughout the customer engagement cycle.
  10. Attend Client Steering Committee meetings, representing Services Delivery.
  11. Manage consulting agreements and ensure that consultants work within timelines and budget.
  12. Accountable for financial performance of client portfolio including Project Revenue, Profit, and Project Recovery. Provide status reporting at the project and client account levels for management on a regular periodic basis.
  13. Accountable for accurate, up-to-date forecasts for assigned customers.
  14. Responsible for organic growth within accounts and identify new business opportunities for the business enablement team.
  15. Work closely with Sales and Pre-sales to ensure that customer requirements are being met through accurate estimating and implementation planning.
  16. Work closely with the Resource Manager, ensuring optimized resource utilization across all projects and assisting in the development and deployment of partner resources.
  17. Work closely with the Alliances to identify partner delivery opportunities as well as identify partner implementation requirements. Monitor Partner delivery performance and recommend improvements.
  18. Collaborate with the Director of Consulting Services and actively participate in regular planning and review meetings.
  19. Directly participate in the development and implementation of training and mentoring programs for staff. Provide regular performance reviews for team members and regularly communicate overall team performance.
Qualifications
  1. Senior Consulting management experience – 8 years (mid to large multiple and concurrent projects).
  2. Mentoring capabilities at the consultant level and project manager level.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the retail industry is a definite asset.
  4. Demonstrated team building, organizational, and planning skills.
  5. Customer relationship building and communication capabilities, both technology and business.
  6. Ability to effectively articulate consulting value propositions to customers at all levels.
  7. University Degree in Computer Science, Business or Equivalent work experience.
  8. Ability to negotiate and facilitate across various corporate functions.
  9. Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  10. Ability to be persuasive to ensure internal change is accepted and implemented effectively.
  11. Candidate must be bilingual (English and French).
