Job Title: Test Architect
Job Description

As a Test Architect, you will be a key member involved in shaping the automation landscape for Telesat's Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit product. You will play a vital role in driving the quality and reliability of next-generation satellite systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute both segment and end-to-end automation strategy for satellite communication systems, ensuring robust test coverage across all components.
• Collaborate across teams and align stakeholders on a unified automation vision and roadmap.
• Establish, lead, and drive Continuous Test best practices as a critical enabler for CI/CD and trunk-based development.
• Champion the development and execution of test plans, frameworks, and tools to validate complex software and hardware solutions.
• Leverage expertise in networking to simulate, test, and troubleshoot network performance under diverse conditions.
• Lead data-driven decision-making processes to assess test coverage, performance metrics, and overall product quality.
• Deploy automation solutions leveraging technologies like Python, Ansible, and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Design and implement test strategies across Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu), and different hardware platforms.
• Collaborate to enhance DevOps pipelines for deployment to hardware environments.
• Contribute to GitLab-based workflows for version control, CI pipelines, and project management as needed.

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of overall testing experience
• 5+ years experience with Python and Pytest
• Test automation, CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, test plan and test procedure
• Experience overseeing test campaigns for products or features within embedded systems
• Expertise in satellite communication, MPLS, routing and switching, DevOps, Zephyr, PyTest

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with formal compliance through testing such as DO178, ISO26262
• Strong expertise in networking protocols, particularly MPLS
• Proficiency with Linux systems including advanced scripting and multi-distro management
• Experience in containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience leading and architecting test teams while also working hands-on
• Satcom or Aerospace experience is a plus
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• DevOps experience in deployment and validating software in an embedded hardware environment

Work Environment

This position is based on-site in downtown Ottawa with the flexibility to work from home on Wednesdays. The role involves a dynamic work setting, focusing on advanced technologies and collaboration within a leading space program.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
