The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Aging Care & Senior Living communities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB. We take pride in providing a safe, caring, and comfortable home environment that caters to the complex needs of our senior residents and families. Locally, in Calgary, BSF also operates Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter providing safe shelter and comprehensive support services to women and children leaving abuse and violence.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Dietary Aide who will play a key role in supporting the nutritional and dining needs of our residents. In this role, you'll help create a clean, safe, and welcoming mealtime experience while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble and serve food for regular and modified diets.
  • Support dining room service: setup, meal delivery, clearing, and sanitization.
  • Assist with kitchen cleanliness: wash dishes, mop floors, dispose of waste.
  • Follow Alberta Health Services and Accommodation Standards.
  • Comply with infection prevention and safety procedures (including WHMIS).
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture.
  • Support emergency preparedness and respond calmly in crisis situations.
  • Recognize and report safety concerns.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Practice safe food handling and lifting techniques.
  • Support residents’ dignity, confidentiality, and individual needs.
