What you'll do
  1. Prepare patients for examinations, including escorting, weighing, assisting with undressing, and providing comfort.
  2. Set up examination rooms with instruments, supplies, and cleanliness for each patient.
  3. Assist staff with physical exams by handing instruments, preparing specimens, and managing requisitions and laboratory samples.
  4. Perform nursing procedures such as dressings, catheterizations, vital signs, and medication administration, reporting any issues.
  5. Handle clerical tasks like scheduling, managing reports, answering phones, and filing using various software.
  6. Maintain instruments and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, proper functioning, and storage.
  7. Support patients with daily activities, personal care, comfort, and nourishment assistance.
What you bring

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program or equivalent education and experience.
  • Current full practicing license with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives.

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Physical ability to perform duties.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Awareness of and commitment to Indigenous reconciliation efforts, including understanding of related reports and legislation.
