Job description

Position Description:

Administration and support of zSeries systems in a large network environment / complex multi-client, multi-vendor, and multi-protocol systems. Participation in the evolution of the zSeries platform by developing scalable and innovative service offerings that are future-oriented and meet current and future customer needs. Collaboration with technical specialist teammates (Operating system, Databases, telecommunications, security, Web applications) in a constantly changing context.

Responsibilities:

As a system programmer, you will work on major initiatives within Mainframe practices, interacting with internal and external clients such as third-party partners, vendors, network, data center, and client engagement teams to ensure smooth environment changes. You will also share knowledge, coach, mentor, troubleshoot issues, and develop enhancements and new services.

• Install, propagate, maintain, and support z/OS and related software on centralized zSeries servers.
• Master tools of centralized zSeries servers (JCL, Scheduler, automation, Storage, printing, change management, incident handling).
• Ensure system performance and monitor components.
• Support daily maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and resolve complex problems.
• Manage service requests and problems until resolution.
• Create and maintain technical procedures and documentation.
• Provide functional analysis for new requirements and services.
• Develop solutions to improve client support processes.
• Coach and mentor colleagues.
• Participate in audits and Disaster Recovery tests.
• Provide scheduled on-call support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Extensive experience with installation, configuration, administration, and tuning of technologies/products including z/OS, JES2, Storage, Monitors, automation, RACF/TSS/ACF2, Sysplex, debugging tools. Preferred experience with IBM mainframe systems (CICS, IMS, JCL, Rexx, ISPF, OMVS), Operating Systems (Windows Server, Linux), Databases (SQL-Server, PostgreSQL), Application Servers (.NET, Java), Deployment Environments, Development frameworks, and Middleware (MQ-Series). Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
