Job summary

The Uchucklesaht Tribe Government is seeking a Summer Student for the role of Human Services Assistant. Job description

Summer Student – Human Services Assistant

Uchucklesaht Tribe Government is currently accepting applications for a temporary, full-time position as a Human Services Assistant.

Wage: $22.00/hour

Eligible Applicants
  • Between 15-30 years of age, with a Social Insurance Number

Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Preference will be given to Uchucklesaht, Nuu-chah-nulth members, and Indigenous individuals.

Responsibilities
  • Support Human Services (HS) staff with various programs and activities.
  • Assist in programs related to health, child & family wellness, prevention, youth support, community gardening, social development, housing, education, and culture.
  • Provide clerical support to HS staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement office protocols and policies.
  • Assist in transitioning to electronic records.
  • Support UTG citizens as needed.
  • Perform gardening tasks such as weeding, propagation, watering, harvesting, and cleaning garden produce.
  • Construct and maintain garden infrastructure, including garden boxes, fences, irrigation, and sheds.
  • Create weekly or biweekly food boxes for interested Uchucklesaht citizens.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Good physical fitness.
  • Interest in or willingness to learn gardening skills.
  • Flexible hours availability.
  • Vaccinated against Covid-19.
