Work Arrangement

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the Hiring Manager according to departmental guidelines.

Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Industrial Relations, you will collaborate with our Senior Industrial Relations Advisor team to apply, interpret, and negotiate collective agreements in a dynamic environment. You will primarily manage collective agreement processes and seek to improve or streamline them. You will serve as a key contact for HR personnel and union representatives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and improve/streamline collective agreement processes.
  • Coordinate grievance administration and documentation management.
  • Act as a primary contact for HR and union representatives.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with HR/IR peers and union reps.
  • Support the IR team on complex files.
  • Coordinate special projects supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in collective agreement negotiations, including drafting agendas, taking minutes, and managing files.
  • Perform record-keeping, digitization, and filing duties.
Candidate Profile
  • Community college diploma in HR administration, legal administration, or related field, with at least three years of HR or IR experience.
  • Knowledge of employment conditions in a unionized environment, understanding of industrial relations, collective agreements, and the Canada Labour Code.
  • Excellent communication skills in French; proficiency in English is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Capacity to handle challenging situations, including confrontational environments.
  • Creativity in resolving issues and improving processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
