Position: Quality Mechanical Inspector

Location: Vancouver, WA

Type: Part-time, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections (both in-process and final) of machined parts according to project specifications and requirements.
• Perform incoming inspections of products and services from external providers.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of critical features, including witness inspections.
• Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and inspection packages.
• Verify inspection equipment capability and ensure inspection methodology aligns with drawing intent.
• Review and validate justifications for parts not inspected at final inspection.
• Audit and validate execution of inspection plans.
• Document non-conformances and submit reports for customer disposition.
• Work within the Quality Management System and undergo basic policies and procedures training.
• Record inspection results in our record retention system.

Qualifications:

• Previous mechanical inspection experience.
• Experience with AS9102 (FAI).
• Experience with Certification of Conformance.
• Knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection plans and protocols.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work effectively within a quality management system.

• Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5.
• Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing.
• At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, including 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector.
