Salary Range: $49.02 - $57.68 /hour


This is a temporary full-time opportunity anticipated to extend until April 30, 2026, subject to the availability of work.

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Professional Practice Educator position is accountable for creating, delivering and evaluating education and training to staff and students during orientation and onboarding. This role also provides education, training and change management support to staff and leaders when discipline-wide or corporate change occurs. This will include collaboration with leaders, professional practice consultants and local resources to plan, create and deliver education related to the adoption and implementation of new practices as well as the development of policies and procedures that promote evidence-based practice. This role is interprofessional in nature, supporting both nursing and allied health training and education.



Essential Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Registration from a college recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act or Social Work and Social Service Worker Act
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience
  • Strong knowledge of adult education principles and learning styles, needs assessment, design and evaluation process
  • Expert assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with staff in all roles
  • Knowledge of key roles within a healthcare setting and how they function
  • Evidence of ability to support a collaborative and empowering learning environment
  • Demonstrated skills for one on one and group interaction
  • Proven initiative and leadership abilities and self-directedness
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and respond positively to rapid change
  • Evidence of continuous learning and the use of research in practice
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational, consultation and negotiation skills
  • Skill at managing projects related to changes in nursing practice or work processes
  • Strong computer skills with experience working within a Windows and Microsoft office environment
  • Experience in an Electronic Health Record/Documentation environment
  • Experience in supporting colleagues to manage change effectively, and insight into change impact within organizations
  • Experience providing effective, outcome oriented performance coaching to individuals and groups (e.g. experience as a clinical preceptor)
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
  • Previous committee involvement is considered an asset
