Educational Program Assistants are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 5047 (CUPE). The CUPE collective agreement can be accessed by clicking HERE.

Rate of Pay :

This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar, including time off at Christmas, March Break, and Summer break.

The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually as per the Collective Agreement.

EPAs are paid biweekly, with the annual salary paid across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for the school year. For positions less than a full school year, the salary is pro-rated accordingly.

Daily Hours of Work :

  • 50% Position : 3.5 hours (includes one 15-minute paid break)
  • 80% Position : 6.1 hours (includes half-hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
  • 100% Position : 7.5 hours (includes half-hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
