Educational Program Assistants are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 5047 (CUPE). The CUPE collective agreement can be accessed by clicking HERE.

Rate of Pay :

This is a 10-month position aligned with the school year calendar, including time off at Christmas, March Break, and summer break.

The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with annual step increases per the Collective Agreement.

EPAs are paid bi-weekly, with the annual salary disbursed across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for a 10-month school year. For shorter term positions, the salary is pro-rated.

Daily hours of work:

• 50% Position : 3.5 hours (includes one 15-minute paid break)
• 80% Position : 6.1 hours (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
• 100% Position : 7.5 hours (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks)
