EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT – ELEMENTARY SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAMS
Temporary
8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (6 hours per day) (July 3 and 4)
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily (4 hours per day) (July 7 – 25)
$ 24.85 - 30.30 hourly
The Simcoe County District School Board’s Special Education Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Educational Assistant for the elementary Summer Learning Programs (SLP). Reporting to the site supervisor, the successful candidate will be committed to supporting students in a variety of SLPs, including the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Program (Grades 1 to 8), Enhance Your English (EYE) (Grades 4 to 8) as well as the Positive Peer Interaction program (Grades 1-3) Special Equipment Amount (SEA) (Grades 4 to 8) programs.
Educational Assistants will be assigned to support student(s) in a program(s) based on student enrolment and needs. This year (2025), Summer Learning Programs will include both in-person and online learning formats. All educational staff, will be expected to work in-person supporting students and educators enrolled in all programs. Student programs will be located at West Bayfield Elementary (Barrie), Worsley Elementary (Wasaga Beach), and Regent Park (Orillia).
The anticipated schedule for the Elementary Summer Learning Programs:
· Training sessions on July 3 and 4, 2025 (2 days)
· SLPs from July 7 to 25, 2024 (15 days)

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,
even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
