Job summary

The High Prairie School Division invites applications for an Educational Assistant at Roland Michener Secondary School in Slave Lake, Alberta. This Grade 7-12 school serves about 620 students with a supportive, inclusive learning environment and a broad range of programs.

The successful candidate will assist teachers with educational and therapy plans, support students with diverse needs, participate in field trips, and help maintain progress records.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing educational and therapy programs.
• Implement Individual Program Plans under supervision.
• Provide data for student evaluation and alert about special circumstances.
• Assist with groups or individual students and maintain discipline.
• Assist with field trips and adapt activities to student abilities.
• Monitor students to prevent danger; participate in travel and off-campus activities.
• Accompany students to and from bus or taxi.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain progress records and observe progress for review.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary team as required.
