Educational Assistant - SEIU

Permanent Part Time (0.9 17 FTE/27.5 hours per week)

Qualifications:

  • Educational Assistant certification, early childhood training, or experience and/or training as a Health Care Aid or related certification is an asset.
  • Ability and experience in working with children.
  • Physical ability to work with active students.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • A positive and flexible attitude to change.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to truth and reconciliation.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Willingness to meet the health and hygiene needs of children as required.
  • Work one on one with students and within a classroom setting.
  • Based on needs of individual students, provide assistance in speech, motor, and language development and social and life skills.
  • Work as part of a team in development and implementation of Individual Improvement Plans.
