Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant 0.2 FTE for Fridays (7 hours/week). The role supports students across academic, behavioral, social, life skills and co-op contexts, reporting to a multidisciplinary team to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Positions require a relevant university degree or a 2-year college diploma in human services, plus BMS training and strong communication, interpersonal and organizational abilities to collaborate

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in the human services field.
• Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training is required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Educational Assistants provide support to students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills and co-op situations.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support learning, development, and inclusion.
• EA may rotate through the school to meet the needs of students in multiple groupings and grade levels.
