Job summary

Prairie Valley School Division is hiring an Educational Assistant I at Milestone School. The role provides essential student support across academic, social, and personal areas, with duties ranging from personal care to behaviour support.

The work emphasizes collaboration with educators to foster inclusive learning environments. The position is temporary full-time, with a 6 hours 10 minutes school-day schedule and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma is preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and AED training are required or desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to students to maintain dignity and promote independence as outlined in plans.
• Assist and coach students to develop daily living skills and prepare for life after high school.
• Work with teachers to provide academic support, including small group or one-on-one reinforcement.
• Document progress in student programming records and participate in conferences as requested.
• Promote positive behaviour interventions and support student social interactions.
• Collaborate with the student team to support learning in the least restrictive environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the School Administrator.
