Grasslands Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support elementary students in learning, development and preparation for success in future grades. This term, full-time position runs immediately through June 29, 2027.

The role requires patience, kindness and resiliency, and works with teachers and school staff to promote a safe, inclusive classroom. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a genuine interest in elementary education.

Location: Griffin Park School

Contract Type: Term; 1.00 FTE Full Time (approximately 15 hours per week)

• Monday to Thursday: 8:17 AM to 3:30 PM*
• Fridays: 8:17 AM to 11:55 PM (Staff will be required to stay longer when training is being held)*

*working hours could change based on bell times.

Duration of Position: Immediately - June 29, 2027

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Griffin Park School is seeking applications for a Mainstream Educational Assistant (EA) to support elementary students in their learning, development, and preparation for success in the grades ahead.

This is a full-time, term position beginning immediately, and ending on June 29, 2027.

Griffin Park School is a Pre-Kindergarten, Early English Language Learner and Kindergarten - Grade 6 school in Brooks, Alberta. We have a school population of approx. 420 students enrolled. We also house the Grasslands Public Schools Elementary Levels Program.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma.
• Experience working with children or other vulnerable populations in an educational, healthcare, or related setting.

Considered an asset but not a requirement:

• Post-secondary training in education, Educational Assistant, child development, or a related field
• Two or more years of experience working with children or in an education setting.

*A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

• A Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
• The original document is required to be submitted, and reported within thelast 6 monthsof hire date.
