Part-Time Educational Assistant (Temporary)

Location: Calgary Christian Elementary School

Start Date: August 25, 2025

End Date: June 26, 2026

Assignment: Educational Assistant

FTE / Hours: 579 annual hours (15 hours/week)

Located in Calgary, Calgary Christian Elementary School serves students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. We seek enthusiastic individuals for the Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant position starting August 25, 2025. Our school integrates faith and learning in a safe, caring environment.

Qualifications:

• Recognized post-secondary or vocational certificate in child care/development or behaviour management, with practicum experience with students with special needs
• Equivalent education and experience considered
• Experience in inclusive learning is an asset
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Child CPR is a strong asset)

Responsibilities:

• Provide educational instruction and support technology access for students
• Contribute to planning Individual Program Plans and participate in meetings with students, parents, and the learning team
• Maintain professional relationships within the learning team, offering suggestions based on experience
• Communicate with parents and team members about student progress
• Support student self-esteem and independence through tailored programs
• Encourage positive interactions among students
• Provide personal care (toileting, feeding, dressing, grooming) maintaining student dignity; assist with physical needs as directed
• Ensure student safety, supervise students, sanitize equipment, and manage challenging behaviors as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and a supportive attitude
• Collaborate with the learning team and assist during breaks or field trips
• Assist with classroom cleanup and sanitation
• Perform other related duties
