Job summary

Sun West School Division invites applications for an Educational Assistant at Walter Aseltine School in Rosetown, SK. The position is temporary and part-time, offering 3 hours per day during student days, starting as soon as possible and ending June 25, 2027.

The successful candidate will support students with physical, cognitive, and medical needs, including personal care, lifting, diabetic monitoring, feeding tubes, seizures, and health care plans.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in related field such as an Educational Assistant Certificate is asset.
• Experience with individuals having cognitive or physical limitations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, lifting and transferring of students as needed.
• Support medical needs including diabetic monitoring, feeding tubes, seizure response, and health care plans.
• Assist with toileting/hygiene routines and support behaviour needs as directed.
• Implement activities recommended by occupational, physical, and speech-language pathologists.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote student growth, safety, and well-being.
