Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Educational Assistant 2 to support students at Guthrie School on CFB Edmonton Garrison. You will work under the supervision of teachers to provide targeted help, build confidence, and foster inclusive learning in a dynamic setting.

As an Educational Assistant, you will contribute to a caring, respectful classroom, implement behaviour support strategies, and collaborate with staff to promote student success and well-being across diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate.
• Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs.
• Training in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies.
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Part-Time Permanent Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment at Guthrie.

Every student learns differently and deserves the support they need to thrive. As an Educational Assistant, you play an important role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and experience success in the classroom. Through collaboration, encouragement, and individualised support, you help create inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their potential.

Located on CFB Edmonton Garrison military base, Guthrie School is just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert. With approximately 255 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 and 30 dedicated staff, Guthrie fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving while giving students the skills and knowledge to reach their full potential.

What You'll Be Doing

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will:

• Support students across a range of grades and learning needs
• Assist with academic, social, and behavioural development
• Provide individualised and small-group support as needed
• Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environment
• Collaborate with school staff to promote student success and well-being

What You Bring

• Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
• Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs
• Experience working with intensive needs in a fast paced working environment students would be an asset.
• CPR and First Aid
• Training or experience in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
• Flexibility, patience, and a student-centred approach
• Equivalencies combining education, knowledge, and experience may be considered
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check
