Job summary

District School Board Ontario North East is seeking an Educational Assistant on a temporary basis to support students at W. Earle Miller Public School.

The role is 1.0 FTE (32.5 hours/week) with a start as soon as possible and a temporary end date aligned to the return of the absent employee. Responsibilities include assisting students with diverse needs to access curriculum within integrated and high support settings, under OSSTF-EA terms.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Services Worker, or related field, and/or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with special education needs of varying ages, preferably in a school setting.

Position Summary

Educational Assistants provide classroom support to students based on their individual academic, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical needs. This includes supporting students to access the curriculum and meet their full potential in both integrated and high support settings.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Services Worker, or related field, and/or equivalent. Demonstrated experience working with students with special education needs of varying ages, preferably in a school setting.

Compensation

Salary in accordance with the current OSSTF-EA collective agreement Collective Agreement

$25.76 per hour - $30.55 per hour (plus vacation pay)
