Job summary

District School Board Ontario North East is seeking an Educational Assistant for Englehart High School. This temporary 1.0 FTE position runs 32.5 hours per week with a start date as soon as possible and a term until January 28, 2027 or return of the absent employee.

The EA will provide classroom support to students with diverse needs, assisting access to the curriculum and contributing to an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Services Worker, or related field, and/or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with special education needs of varying ages, preferably in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to students based on their individual academic, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical needs.

Position Summary:

Educational Assistants provide classroom support to students based on their individual academic, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical needs. This includes supporting students to access the curriculum and meet their full potential in both integrated and high support settings.

Qualifications:

Compensation:

Salary in accordance with the current OSSTF-EA collective agreement Collective Agreement

$25.76 per hour - $30.55 per hour (plus vacation pay)
