Job summary

BrightPath Kids! is seeking an Educational Assistant at the Rundle center to work alongside teachers and families, providing a home-away-from-home experience for children in our care.

You will support learning activities and help implement programming under the supervision of a certificated teacher. Requirements include 1–3 years in childcare, strong communication and conflict resolution skills, reliable vehicle with a valid license, and current First Aid/CPR and immunizations.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in childcare or in settings with children with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver’s license.
• Must meet provincial requirements for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by supporting learning activities and care.
• Plan and implement programming based on individual child needs with guidance from a certificated teacher.
• Communicate effectively with children and families to build relationships.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to support child development.
• Assist in writing IPPs and tracking/planning forms and communicate with parents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As a Educational Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Helping children with various degrees of need in the learning environment.


• Planning and implementing programming based on the need of the child supported by a certificated teacher.


• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.


• Ability to collaborate with a team.


• Ability to write an IPP, tracking and planning forms as well as parent communication are required.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
