As the Education Programs Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our prevention education work with youth and young adults—leading innovative programs that reach high school and university students across Ontario, throughout Canada, and even globally. Reporting to the Associate Director, Education and Programs, you’ll help shape and deliver meaningful, real-world content that sparks conversations and drives awareness.

In this role, you will:

  • Create educational resources that connect with young audiences in schools, on campuses, and online.
  • Collaborate with partners—including student leaders, educators, community organizations, and health professionals—to bring our initiatives to life.
  • Manage big-picture strategy and logistics: from building budgets to tracking impact, your work ensures everything runs smoothly and hits the mark.
  • Stay in the know: You’ll keep up with the latest trends and best practices in youth and young adult health promotion and prevention

You actively seek out a variety of youth/young adult programs, listen to the people participating in them and the organizations who develop them, and review program impacts/feedback to use these insights to inform and improve future RGC educational programs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Program Creation and Exceptional Delivery 50%
  • Leveraging best available research, and internal/external experts, create equitable and inclusive programs for specific demographics that educate and inform on minimizing gambling-related harms
  • Manage the production, organization and delivery of programs throughout the academic school year ensuring high standards of professionalism, accuracy of messaging and delivery of engaging, memorable and educational experiences in Ontario high schools and on campuses
  • Manage/maintain current relationships with partners and stakeholders to deliver programs that align with yearly program’s goals and objectives
  • Work with stakeholders and research organizations to identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities, with the goal of informing strategic decision-making and program development
  • In conjunction with RGC staff, program team members, and external partners identify best practice around developing training modules; create and/or assist in the creation of presentations and training modules on a variety of themes/subjects related to gambling
  • Delivery of presentations and/or training at high schools, campuses, community activations, conferences, and other events
  • Onsite, in-person deliverythroughout the province in order to observe and participate in programming, training, and delivery. This can include overnight stays, assisting with setting up and dismantling displays, requiring physical effort including lifting up to 45lbs assisted, taking photos and videos at the display (including sometimes being in the photos) to document the program's success and maintaining constant communication with the team and the office while on the road
Partnerships and Collaboration 35%
  • Look for opportunities torepresent RGC leadership at public and private meetings that are focused on youth and young adult audiences
  • Develop relationships with organizations and their leadership, bringing back relevant insights for consideration/ partnership opportunities
  • Actively explore opportunities to expand and extend RGC programs locally, provincially and globally; includes conference presentations and exhibit hall displays, award applications, media interviews, and other opportunities that align with program goals
  • Active member of the RGC Discovery Conference Planning Committee bringing forward ideas and suggestions for agenda content; assist with the planning of session(s), and onsite for event-related assistance
Administration 15%
  • Create program plans with goals and objectives for provincial reporting; track program results two times per year ensuring that outcomes are met
  • Develop and monitor budgets for Youth and Young Adults yearly programming ensuring quotes for resources and support are gathered, costs are measured, and reconciliation statements are created
  • Works with internal and/or external research organizations to create evaluations of projects and programs, ensuring that goals and objectives are set, monitored, and achieved
  • Ability to evaluate programs while in progress and provide recommendations for ongoing program improvement
  • Able to write and communicate effectively for schools and partnership outreach, RGC public-facing opportunities, reports, e-newsletters, presentations to professional staff, sponsors, conference attendees, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, well-structured, and searchable database of schools, campuses, treatment agencies and community organizations, ensuring efficient categorization, to support data management and user access needs
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Education and Programs on program planning, delivery, and ongoing programs and projects reporting; and with the Education Programs Coordinator on day-to-day planning, delivery and management of in-market programs
  • Enjoys working with a variety of internal and external team members as well as school and community partners/stakeholders, and outside suppliers and agencies
  • Engages with the Associate Director, Community Engagement and Partnerships on programs, as needed, for community, at-risk and emerging populations; and with the Associate Director, Marketing Communications, as needed, on program and project brief’s related to social marketing campaigns, metrics, and year end reporting
  • Thrives in a role that is fast-paced, supportive of other team members, and embodies a ‘can-do’ attitude of assistance when projects/programs are close to completion
  • Enjoys engaging with a variety of demographics includes interacting with students and being curious about their insights and viewpoints with the goal of understanding and including first-person experiences into programming

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Health Promotion or related field with a minimum of 5 years in relevant health promotion, harm reduction or educational program work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum 3+ year track record leading the creation, managing the delivery, overseeing ongoing monitoring of program rollout including necessary improvements, and driving the evaluation of programs for young people in school and community-based settings
  • Very strong project management, budgeting and organizational skills with proven ability to plan, develop, and execute programs within budget and on time experience working with marketing agencies
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and across the organization while being able to adapt to a changing environment
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to think critically to resolve challenges that may arise
  • Understand the importance of professionalism when representing RGC in the educational and public space

  • Advanced skill using Microsoft 365 including various software applications and cloud tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, multi-tasking and prioritizing, problem solving skills and verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Strong self-directed initiative, with an ability to take the lead as needed
  • Ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines and flexibility to make changes when/if priorities shift
  • Ability to travel as needed for program/projects; must be comfortable driving long distances throughout the year
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License
  • Must have advanced/advanced-minus English and French speaking and reading skills

Annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $82,000, commensurate with skills and experience, plus comprehensive benefits including virtual health care, personal and health care spending accounts and Group RRSP, and flexible work environment.

RGC operates in a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will be expected to work in the Toronto office when needed.
